Mr. P. Kasi (1992-1994)

An architect by profession. He began his career with an architect firm and later lectured at the MARA Institute of Technology, Shah Alam. Since 1985 he has been in private practice as the sole proprietor of P.Kasi Chartered Architect and has been involved in the planning, design and management of several major urban developments including several large housing and resort development in the country.

He has been associated with BIM for more than 12 years. He started as an ordinary Board Member and became the Honorary Secretary in 1988 and the Deputy Chairman in 1990. On becoming chairman of BIM in 1992, he was the first architect to hold the position although Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM) is a founder member of BIM. He also achieved the distinction of becoming the chairman of BIM at the age of 34, the youngest to date to hold the position.

During his chairmanship, he vitalised and rationalised the activities of BIM and was instrumental in focusing on the long-term financial stability of BIM by starting the development of the land at Bandar Tun Razak.
