Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia

He first qualified as Civil Engineer and later as a Town Planner. He worked with the Malaysian Government for 25 years before going into private practice as a Consultant Town Planner.

He has been involved with BIM since 1985, first as a Board Member representing the Malaysian Institute of Planners and later as an elected EXCO member, Vice Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Chairman. Besides being actively involved in BIM, he was also President of the Malaysian Institute of Planners, Secretary General of the Asean Association of Planning and Housing and held positions in many other international organisations.

During his time as chairman of BIM, he was actively involved in the development of BIM building at Bandar Tun Razak, in the introduction of the Zurich/BIM Affinity Insurance Scheme, publication of BIM's newsletter and in other activities.
