Being a professional body, BIM’S primary role is to promote professionalism in the country. Among the main objectives of BIM include the following:
To promote, protect and enhance the status of professional bodies.
To encourage and assist the formation of national professional bodies.
To encourage high standards of professional conduct.
To encourage and interchange ideas on and the discussion of subjects of interdisciplinary or common interest.
To encourage and declare the corporate opinion of members.
To encourage good relationships and understanding between members of the Centre and members of the public.
To examine and report on legislation in Malaysia and, where practical, promote and support desirable measures of law reform.
